Knitsley Farm boasts an artisan bakery which was added in early 2012. The bakery is positioned upstairs in the former ‘old granary’ which was built in the late 1700’s for the purpose of storing grain for animal feed.

Our bakery team produce all the breads for the farm shop and cafe from scratch, using very traditional techniques. These techniques involve the inclusion of sourdough (pre-ferment) to most of the artisan breads which give the intense caramelisation and characteristic complex flavours. Our breads are baked in traditional stone based bread ovens every morning.

The bakery also produces a range of loaf cakes, tarts, traybakes, and fabulous fresh cream cakes all of which are free of preservatives and additives. Orders can be taken for any of our bakery products. Any specific requirements will be gladly discussed with a member of the bakery team.
